MARRAKECH
Yesterday I returned from Marrakech, I went there in a family trip. I think the trip has been the most interesting thing I did during this short Christmas break. So I will explain a bit what I did and my opinion about this fabulous city. The best of the trip to Marrakech was sleeping with my sister. Every night we spent time talking about the city, our things ... When we finish we do a cigarette (we could pass a package). My sister is very impressed by the city, but I believe she thinks it seemed humble. However, I’m shocked to have discovered a city as beautiful and thoughtful. I say "thoughtful" because all buildings are painted with the same color paint (red light), is full of parks, big roads, but the fact which had surprised me is that in everywhere there are palm trees and orange trees, what a good idea; if you should plant trees in a town ¿why not plant trees that produce food? I'm sure the homeless in the city often take fruit from the trees... So, we can say that Marrakech is a real urban orange field (is not necessary say that supermarkets are full of orange juice).
Maybe is the presence of orange trees or species, so Marrakech produces a sweet and delicious smelling (…think that everyone in Catalunya says that Moroccans don’t smell well ...). Apart from the smells I also loved the temperature: in fact, in winter you can go with summer clothes without have cold (well, I think it’s hot but, after all, how many times have we seen in Barcelona "guiris" naked on December or January?). If we add that our hotel was communicated with a supermarket, we can say that Marrakech seems the paradi se.
Now I must speak about the dark side of the city, traffic: it is a real danger, no helmet, no road’s direction and THE VEHICLES HAVE PREFERRED, NOT THE PEDESTRIANS! We suffered a lot, really, but on the second-third day we had become accustomed and it made us laugh a little (cross the road was like a joke).
I’m going to finishing this text, but after I must say that although many women were covered, many women weren’t covered! In the TV channel "Aljazeera" (considered a very Islamic channel); the girl who explains the news isn’t covered by any tissue. So it is easy to perceive that the country is in Occidentalizing process. For this reason I think we have a little distorted view of the real Morocco. In this line, many guys wore the T-shirt of Spain and, as a taxi driver said; many Moroccans are a real fans of Spanish football clubs. If they knew Anglada and his last publication in the “el 9 nou” ... is unfair.
