BOARDING SHOOLS
►Many people wondered how the ideal world should be. And many of the great thinkers (Plato, Marx ...) have concluded that everyone should be equal (a communist idea.) Speaking of communism, these days we see many images of North Korea which have attacked the island Yeonpyeong. A place where everyone dressed alike, everyone lives in the same houses ... in other words a “boarding school country” (the same room, same amenities and the same clothes). Is it good for anyone? Increase the results live in a boarding school? We're not talking about a method of education but a life philosophy.
Well, at first we must ask ourselves what gives live in a boarding school. The "Bulling" is a nonsense because everyone is equal (square a society, not triangular). Nobody can make fun of your clothes or your house ... In addition; students share their professional life and personal life together. Many aspects of professional life are better because they always have a teacher, and a library...
But competition will increase much because everyone has the same hours of work and resources, so if someone doesn’t have good grades is because he has the only disadvantage that someone can have in a boarding school: laziness or low qualifications. But we also must ask to our self: what happens about personal life? How can you learn to communicate with grandparents, with ordinary people, with librarians? In the same way, a boarding student will never have an excuse for not doing homework because he has the same hours as any pupil in the school. So how can you learn that "The homework must be done?” how can you learn to manage your personal time? You don’t have occasions to “not do the home work” or “plan your day”.
The contact with people of different character is lost in a boarding school. If someone lives in a house he will link with town people, and consequently learn new things (not possible to learn in a school). So live in a boarding school can clean our brain because you only will receive information from the school.
In summary, the pros and cons are served. The boarding schools don’t achieve student’s results, but neither worsens it: Only change the results.
